One person was taken to a local hospital Monday after a brawl escalated into a shooting in southeast Colorado Springs.
Police were dispatched to 2704 Stonecrop Ridge Grove, east of South Circle Drive, after receiving several 9-1-1 calls of gunfire around 12:18 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers located several witnesses who told them a disturbance ended as an unidentified man unloaded a weapon, hitting a second person and causing non-life threatening injuries.
The victim was taken by one of the witnesses to the hospital, where both were contacted by police. The victim was released shortly after receiving treatment.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
