One person died and another was seriously injured after a rollover traffic crash west of Ca?n City that was discovered late Thursday morning by a highway worker, according to the Fremont County Sheriff's Department.
Colorado State Patrol found Ronald Mohr, 59, dead in the green Ford pickup truck on U.S. 50 at mile marker 272. The truck's passenger, Richard Koester, 36, was airlifted to Penrose Hospital with multiple injuries. Neither of the men were wearing seatbelts, According to authorities, the Ford pickup was westbound near mile marker 273 when the driver lost control, traveled across the eastbound lane, and then "became airborne before colliding with a dirt embankment and coming to rest in a ravine on the south side of the road."
The two men had previously been reported missing and were last seen Oct. 11. Authorities have not determined the exact time of the crash, but a state patrol trooper said he believes it happened early Thursday.
