LOS ANGELES — A man was arrested at a Los Angeles hotel on Thursday after authorities discovered pipe bombs at a hotel in Colorado, two law enforcement officials told The Associated Press.

Adam Hayat, 35, was arrested at the Holiday Inn hotel near Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday after pipe bombs were found in a hotel in downtown Denver, according to the officials. One of the officials said Hayat had stayed at the Denver hotel before the explosives were found.

The officials, who were both familiar with the investigation but not authorized to discuss it publicly, spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity.

One of the officials said no explosives were found at the Los Angeles hotel where Hayat was taken into custody on Thursday.

A spokeswoman for the FBI's field office in Los Angeles referred questions to federal prosecutors in Colorado. Jeff Dorschner, a spokesman for the United States Attorney's Office in Denver, declined to comment on the arrest Thursday.

A comment request sent to an email address that was listed for Hayat in public records was not immediately returned Thursday evening. It was also not immediately clear if he had an attorney who could comment on the allegations.
