Colorado is "where passion meets purpose," boasts a new state website recognizing companies that do business in Colorado and encouraging others to consider it.
With the Monday launch of choosecolorado.com, the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade is giving those celebrating the state's 140th birthday another reason to appreciate their home.
Facts such as the number of employees, annual payroll and major employers are identified for state industries including defense and homeland security, tourism and outdoor recreation, aerospace and electronics.
Amid recognition of large employers, the website also acknowledges small businesses, which make up 97.6 percent of state businesses and are part of "a general enthusiasm from our startup community about opportunities found here."
Five assets are listed in a detailed regional profile encompassing El Paso, Park and Teller counties: The Pikes Peak region has an "extraordinary quality of life," there are many military installations, and there is a "highly educated workforce," a regional airport and "extensive transportation infrastructure."
