Mike Shaw Buick GMC is excited to announce that the dealership is under exceptional new management. Rick Carter, the new General Manager, brings with him more than 30 years of experience in the industry; and an unfaltering commitment to client satisfaction. Nestor Rodriguez is the new Business Development Manager, who is eager to forge strong bonds with new and existing clients. Both industry professionals relocated from Texas a little over one month ago, and are loving the beautiful state of Colorado; and especially enjoying collaborating with the incredible staff and clients at Mike Shaw Buick GMC.

“More than anything, we bring with us a renewed focus on customer service, to provide an exceptional and memorable client experience,” said Carter. “I am the type of person who is very hands-on – I like to meet and greet customers and ensure that they are being taken care of and given all of the help and support that they need.” On that same token, Carter ensures that staff are provided the assistance and direction needed to handle client inquiries with knowledge and confidence. “The thing I’m most encouraged about is the great staff of employees. They really care, they’re not promising things they can’t do, and they’re just all-around solid citizens,” he said.

On the service end, the new Service Manager Duke Croney moved from Washington and brings with him more than 40 years of experience. He has a deep understanding of client needs from his four decades in the business. The service department also has three new technicians, two of whom were previously employed by the dealership – Kolby Hicks and Ezra Siffert. The beloved techs are excited to be back, and many longtime customers have already visited to congratulate them on their return and express gratitude for their unparalleled quality of service. There are also two service writers – Erick Bates and Anthony Benson – who have been with the dealership for 18 years, and have a very loyal customer following. “We now have the best technicians and service writers that the dealership has ever had,” Carter said.

Mike Shaw currently has seven family-owned dealerships spanning Texas, Louisiana and Colorado. The Colorado Springs location opened its doors in 2000, and ever since Shaw has been very active in community organizations, nonprofits and initiatives, including the Chamber of Commerce, Home Builders Association, Colorado 30 Group, Title Sponsor Military Affairs Award Luncheon, El Pomar Foundation, Boy Scouts of America and Susan B Komen Foundation.

The warm, family atmosphere extends to every single person that drives up to Mike Shaw Buick GMC at 1313 Motor City Drive, Colorado Springs. “The main thing is to make everyone feel like family. If a customer lives in this area, we consider them a neighbor and we want to take care of them,” Carter said. “I go above and beyond to take care of customers, especially if they have been loyal to us – we want to be loyal to them.”

The dealership understands the importance of being transparent with clients, and for that reason they utilize real-time pricing. Real-time pricing checks all auto prices in the area – through media, newspaper, other dealerships, etc. – and they price their cars according to that, below the market. Clients can rest assured that they are getting the best price available, whether it’s their first purchase with Mike Shaw Buick GMC or their fifth. Beyond excellent up-front pricing, they also offer low financing through the banks. “That’s just as important as the price. If you give a low price but have high financing, it isn’t going to be in the best interest of the client,” Carter said.

There is some intriguing new inventory that has arrived or is coming soon to the dealership. A few noteworthy additions, as Rodriguez shared, are Buick’s brand new 2018 Enclave that has been totally redesigned; as well as a Buick 2018 Regal TourX. On the GMC side is the all-new 2018 Terrain that’s coming soon, as well as the recently redesigned 2017 Acadia. All the more reason to head to the dealership and browse. “We are in the process of growing our inventory to include all of the latest, greatest and most prized vehicles,” said Carter.

The growing inventory also applies to used cars. Randy Mclin, Used Car Manger, ensures that the dealership only stocks top quality used cars. Every vehicle goes through a 127 point check at the service department, so that any and all issues are fixed before the client ever sees the vehicle. “Our customers have confidence in knowing that their car will be front-line ready,” Carter said. Used GM vehicles are certified and come complete with a one-year warranty directly from GM.
