Here's a look at some of the top events happening April 4-10 around the Pikes Peak region:

FRIDAY

- Denver is rockin' all weekend at Sports Authority Field, and it's not about the Broncos. Join thousands of music fans at the three-day SnowBall Music Festival, which moves to Denver for the first time from its traditional mountain venues of Winter Park and Avon, coming to The Park at Mile High, 1701 Bryant St.. Here are a few of the names performing: Pretty Lights, GRiZ, PLM Party, Busta Rhymes, The Juan Maclean, What So Not, STRFCKR, Yeasayer and Brother Ali. Getting there: light rail, RTD buses, Uber car-pickup system, bustoshow.org from cities including Colorado Springs. SATURDAY

- Check out rustic La Foret Conference and Retreat Center in Black Forest for a free Family Fun Day and Open House. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be ziplining, hayrides, history tours, hikes through the forest and a barbecue lunch. Donations are accepted since La Foret, 6145 Shoup Road, is a nonprofit. MONDAY

- An evening of art teamed with appetizers and craft beer signals an out-of-the-ordinary night. And it's a benefit for Pikes Peak United Way from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Front Range BBQ, 2330 W. Colorado Ave. For this fifth annual Front Range BBQ Local's Art Show, works by 17 local artists will be available, along with a silent auction. Details: free, 632-2596, frbbq.com

THURSDAY

- Funny woman Cocoa Brown from Tyler Perry's "Single Moms Club" fills the night with laughter when she visits Stargazers Theatre & Event Center at 7:30 p.m. She found her calling when she left the corporate world in 1997 and tried her hand at standup comedy. In only seven months, she was named Washington Comedian of the Year. Her visit to the Springs is sponsored by Xi Pi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. - Female playwrights nationwide submitted their entries, and six were successful. See their 10-minute fully produced plays during theSix Women Playwriting Festival, at the MAT, 1626 S. Tejon St., through April 27. Times are 7 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Playwrights include Nicolette Vajtay, Denver, "Feng Shui Fever;" Deirdre Gilbert, Colorado Springs, "Mallets Aforethought;" and Barbara Blumenthal-Ehrlich Massachusetts, "A Faint Taste of Cat Food and Sour Milk."
