In one minute the Colorado Springs City Council called its special meeting to order only to remove the one item — a discussion on the firing of its legislative analyst George Culpepper — from the agenda.

The meeting was adjourned and so was the reason Culpepper was fired by Mayor Steve Bach only weeks after he was hired. Culpepper was hired by the City Council and reported directly to council.

But Bach fired him Jan. 9. Culpepper was prepared to ask City Council to discuss his termination in public. But after delaying the original meeting, he went silent and so did the City Council.
