String of burglaries reported overnight in northeast Colorado Springs

A string of businesses were burglarized early Wednesday in northeast Colorado Springs, police said.

The burglars targeted Diamond Liquor at 5490 Powers Center Point #100, Wuhoo's Asian Bistro at 4543 Austin Bluffs Parkway and Asiana Market at 5740 N. Carefree Circle #200, said police Sgt. Owen Scott.

No arrests have been announced, and no suspects have been publicly identified.

Scott said in an email that "based on some of the video footage there are a lot of similarities."

A burglary also was reported early Wednesday at a restaurant in north Colorado Springs the 11000 block of Ridgeline Drive, but Scott said "based on the initial information I am not sure if it will be connected."

The liquor store on Powers Center Point and the restaurant on Ridgeline Drive are owned by the same person, Gazette news partner KKTV reported.

The owner told KKTV that the restaurant on Ridgeline Drive has been burglarized four times since February - but he does find it strange his liquor store six miles away was hit on the same morning.
