Colorado Springs Police said multiple 911 calls went unanswered Friday during phone system failures that started around 11 a.m.

During the outage, call-taking operations temporarily moved to a backup call center.

Just after 1:30 p.m., police reported that, though the emergency line was fixed, the non-emergency line was still on the fritz.

Despite the outages, police believe that all missed calls were returned and handled appropriately.
