CLEVELAND (AP) — People living near rising creeks and rivers in Ohio should keep a wary eye as heavy rain pounds the region.

In flood-prone Findlay in northwest Ohio, the Blanchard River had risen by more than 6 feet Saturday, with a 14-foot crest forecast for late Sunday or early morning.

The National Weather Service says rain through much of the weekend could lead to flooding in low-lying areas.

A flood warning has been issued for the Great Miami River in western Ohio at Sidney and Troy along the Interstate 75 corridor.

The level could reach flood stage by late Saturday and stay elevated through Monday.

A flood watch was issued for much of northern Ohio through Sunday afternoon.
