John Harding, co-anchor of the KKTV morning and 9 a.m. news with Stacia Naquin, is leaving the station to work full-time with his real estate business, which is marking its 10th anniversary in 2014.
Harding's last day at KKTV is Friday.
Harding had anchored the morning and noon news at KKTV, the local CBS affiliate, from 1997 to 1999 before leaving to work as an anchor-reporter in Little Rock, Ark., and Tampa, Fla.
He returned to KKTV in 2008.
Harding and Naquin were named 2012's Best Anchor Team by the Colorado Broadcasters Association.
A search is on both internally and externally, KKTV general manager Nick Matesi said.
"We're going to take our time to make sure we get the right person to fit in with Stacia, meteorologist Branden Borremans, traffic reporter James Brown and the rest of the crew," Matesi said.
Matesi added that he expects to announce a replacement in the next several weeks.
