The Hatch Cover turns out well-done bar food. While items like french fries and onion rings are pulled from the freezer instead of made from scratch, the kitchen is paying attention to the preparation. The atmosphere is nothing fancy. The friendly service helps, but the service is noticeably faster at lunch than it is after the sun goes down.

The Dale Street Bistro Cafe resides in a quaint, converted Victorian house with a lot of charm. The menu has enough variety to content almost everyone. The dishes that shine are really delicious, but the dishes that don't seem to be suffering from lack of attention to detail.

Xiang's Kitchen has some very good American-Chinese dishes, some less successful dishes from other Asian cuisines, and hefty portions that defy belief. While the restaurant does a brisk lunch business, the evening seems to rely heavily on takeout orders. The service is friendly and quick, and you aren't likely to be disappointed if you stick to the Chinese side of the menu.
