NaRai Thai is a snug Thai restaurant in the Rockrimmon area. There are plenty of options on the menu to help warm you up, although the spice levels are played down, even for "Thai hot." Your server will not only know the intricacies of the menu, but will usually be able to help you choose a dish to suit what you're craving. DISHES NOT TO MISS: Spicy chicken spring rolls ($7); Thai sweet and sour fish ($13.95); garlic chicken noodles ($10.50)

The Craftwood Inn has magnificent views of Manitou Springs and the mountains. The ambiance can be casually elegant on the patio during the summer or cozy and cared for in front of the fireplace when the snow flies. The Colorado cuisine deserves your full attention, so be prepared to take the time to fully savor the experience.

The word "serviceable" could have been coined with Judge Baldwin's in mind. The dishes I tasted were mostly fine, but none stood out as something worth a second trip. As a traveler, I would be fairly pleased to find a restaurant like this in my hotel. As a local, it's a place I'm not going out of my way to visit. DISHES NOT TO MISS: Cucumber avocado dip ($8.95), soup, salad, sandwich ($9.95)
