Highlights from Monday's high school sports scene around the Pikes Peak region.



Trojan Invitational

At Cheyenne Shadows Golf Course: Pine Creek took the top three spots, led by Mary Kate Nelson's 87, to win the Trojan Invitational on Monday.

Victoria Thompson shot 94 for second place and Dana Rial's 99 was good for third.

The Eagles' team score of 280 was more than 50 better than Doherty and Liberty. The Spartans and Lancers tied with 331.

Nelson officially wrapped up the individual crown and Pine Creek locked down the team title. Nelson entered the final tournament with an 81-stroke lead, making it near impossible for anyone to catch her.

Class 5A regionals are May 5 at various sites around the state.



Manitou Springs 8, CSCS 0

At Manitou Springs: Katie McKiel and Riley Witcham each netted hat tricks to lead 3A Pikes Peak No. 3 Manitou Springs (10-4) past Colorado Springs Christian School (1-11).

The Mustangs also posted assists on seven of the eight goals, led by Jaycee Boyer and Georgia Sinclair, who each notched two.



Cheyenne Mountain 7, Holy Family 0

At Cheyenne Mountain: Cheyenne Mountain continued its strong defense of it's Class 4A state title with another sweeping victory.

Only one match went more than two sets, as No. 4 doubles Tatumn Mika and Rachel Perry outlasted Annie Nguyen and Jeannie Doan 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

No. 3 singles Jessica Metz swept her opponent 6-0, 6-0.
