INDIAN ROCKS BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A man visiting from Massachusetts drowned in the water off Indian Rocks Beach near St. Petersburg.

Pinellas County Sheriff's officials say 45-year-old George Baletsa of Byfield, Massachusetts, was found unresponsive in the water around 7 p.m. Tuesday. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Deputies say Balesta had been playing on the beach with his children when he decided to go for a swim.

An investigation is continuing.
