A wanted fugitive with warrants out of Montana and New Mexico was taken into custody Wednesday morning in a joint effort by Colorado Springs police and the U.S. Marshal's Office.

Travis Zabroski, 31, was arrested at the La Quinta Inn, 4386 Sinton Rd., around 6:30 a.m. when police and the marshals received information that he was staying there with his wife, according to a police news release.

Police said Zabroski was wanted in Montana on a dangerous drugs warrant and New Mexico on a probation violation warrant with an original armed robbery. Zabroski was considered armed and dangerous, according to police.

Officers contacted Zabroski at the hotel and issued several commands for him to exit. He eventually complied and was taken into custody without incident.

He was being held at the El Paso County jail Wednesday, awaiting extradition to Montana or New Mexico.
