A Colorado Springs man who pleaded guilty to purchasing $4,000 in child porn over several years was sentenced to prison Monday, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Denver.

Authorities said Clifton Brett Bennett, 56, had bought more than 100 child porn videos. He will serve 57 months in federal prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release, authorities said.

Bennett, identified by authorities as a member of the North American Man-Boy Love Association, was indicted by a grand jury in Denver on Sept. 25 of last year. He pleaded guilty in May.
During a search of his home, investigators found images of naked preteen boys and child pornography on his computer, authorities said.

Investigators also found DVDs containing child pornography, many of which had been delivered by U.S. mail from New York.

A postal inspector conducting a child porn investigation initially alerted a Colorado Spring Internet Crimes against Children detective, authorities said.

Bennett will have to register as a sex offender when he is released from prison, officials said.

Department of justice officials said the case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 to "combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse."
