A 19-year-old man who was caught on camera robbing a Wells Fargo Bank in Penrose late Wednesday morning was arrested about five hours after the robbery, according to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office.

Tyler Matthew Schnapp, allegedly entered the bank at 210 Broadway St., east of Colorado 115 armed with a handgun and got away with an undisclosed amount of money, authorities said.

The robber fled in a maroon-colored SUV, which a deputy spotted about 5 p.m. Wednesday heading east on U.S. 50, the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office said. Schnapp was pulled over and arrested without incident, authorities said.

Penrose Elementary School, less than half-a-mile east of the bank, was temporarily locked down while deputies searched for the robber.
