A 50-year-old man injured in an officer-involved shooting Friday night near Penrose Hospital has been booked into jail, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office reported.
Dennis Caldarelli first barricaded himself in a home, then emerged with a weapon as police responded to a domestic violence report Friday in the 2400 block of North Cascade Avenue, reported the Sheriff's Office, which is investigating the officer-involved shooting by city police.
Shots were fired, and Caldarelli was hit and taken to a hospital.
He was arrested Monday on suspicion of intimidation of a witness or victim, a felony, and false imprisonment, a misdemeanor, court records show. He is being held without bond.
In 1997, Caldarelli pleaded guilty to second-degree assault of a law enforcement officer in Denver and was sentenced to eight years in prison, court records show.
