BROOMFIELD, Colo. (AP) — A Broomfield man who pleaded guilty to second-degree murder after a body was found in a Broomfield street in August has been sentenced to 38 years in prison.
Matthew Burnett was charged with killing James Fernandez. He was also charged with possession of child pornography.
Authorities say they found more than 2,700 images and 129 videos of child pornography on Burnett's computer when police searched his home after Fernandez was killed.
Authorities say Burnett killed Fernandez after an argument in Burnett's home.
Burnett told police he dragged his friend into the street, hoping a passing car might stop and help.
Burnett told police he became angry after he found his wife in a compromising position with Fernandez and attacked him.
