The man killed Friday evening in a crash near East Platte Avenue and Wooten Road was 39-year-old Scott Sisk, the El Paso County Coroner's Office reported.

Sisk was driving east on Platte from Wooten about 5 p.m. when he swerved into westbound traffic, colliding with a Chevrolet Tahoe traveling westbound that was carrying a family of five, police said.

Sisk had to be extricated from his car and died at the scene. The two adults and three children in the other car were taken to a local hospital to be evaluated, said Colorado Springs Fire Lt. Kevin Ducy, department spokesman.

Four members of the family have been released from the hospital, police said.

The crash is under investigation.
