A 23-year-old man was arrested Saturday night in Colorado Springs after a traffic stop found a stolen gun and illegal drugs.

Jose Luis Saavedra was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen .45 caliber gun, 6.1 grams of schedule II narcotics packaged for distribution and $3,370 allegedly from illegal drug sale, according to police.

Police pulled over Saavedra shortly before midnight on Academy Boulevard near Academy Park Loop after he allegedly ran a red light. Police said Saavedra failed to provide proper identification and was detailed.

Police said Saavedra had 13 traffic warrants from 2013 and the found gun's serial number matched a report of a stolen in 2011.
