A 28-year-old man was in critical condition Monday after he was shot Sunday night while fleeing a business he had allegedly robbed.

Police said Dustin Williams of Colorado Springs entered the Two Whole Sailors store at 2920 N. Prospect St., demanding money and threatening the store's owner with a rifle.

The owner handed over the cash, and police said Williams was shot while he was leaving with the money.

Officers responded to the store about 8:20 p.m. Sunday and found Williams with a gunshot wound to the torso.

The business owner was at the scene and not injured. Police did not release any additional information about the shooter.
