A 22-year-old man wanted on suspicion of domestic violence was arrested Friday evening, but only after police spent two hours trying to get him out of an attic.
Just after 3 p.m., officers responded to a home at 231 University Drive in southeast Colorado Springs to investigate reports two people involved in a domestic dispute.
Officers removed two people from the residence, including the reported victim, and a neighbor in an adjoining apartment, but learned that their suspect, James Hardy had holed up in the attic.
Police deployed pepper spray into the house after warnings and attempts to talk Hardy out of his hiding place didn't work.
Hardy was arrested at 5:15 p.m. Both the victim and neighbor were allowed to go back inside the house.
