GOLDEN — Authorities say an armed man hijacked one vehicle, stole two others and tried to commandeer more before a deputy wrestled him to the pavement on a highway west of Denver.

No injuries were reported in the chase Wednesday afternoon.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department says the pursuit began when a car with a man and a juvenile female inside fled during a traffic stop.

Authorities say one or both of the pair were then allegedly involved in hijacking a car with two people inside, stealing a pickup, crashing an SUV through a garage door and trying to steal two trucks.

Helicopter video also shows a man apparently trying to flag down other cars.

The female separated from the man and was taken into custody first.

No names have been released.
