LOVELAND — A Loveland man who fought with a deputy after being caught behind flood-evacuation lines has been sentenced to 50 days in jail.

Ethan Ramm was asked what he was doing in a disaster area closed to the public near Loveland during floods in September. The deputy says Ramm moved his hand toward a knife and after a brief struggle, a chase ensued.

On Thursday, he pleaded guilty to third-degree assault, resisting arrest and driving without a license.

According to the Fort Collins Coloradoan (http://tinyurl.com/k7mgq3m ), Ramm, who lives near the area, said at Thursday's sentencing hearing that he'd been riding his dirt bike in the area to check on the homes of friends.
