Colorado Springs police arrested a man on suspicion of holding a woman against her will in an SUV while, at one point, she yelled "help, he's going to kill me."
A string of witness reports from across south and east Colorado Springs led Colorado Springs police to arrest Robert Leck, 49, in connection with the domestic assault, according to Lt. Catherine Buckley, a police spokeswoman.
One person told police they saw a woman being held in a vehicle around 4:39 p.m. near Fountain Boulevard and Shasta Drive, on the city's southeast side. Four mintes later, another person saw a woman kick a door vehicle while screaming for help near Circle Drive and Airport Road. And a third person told police they saw a disturbance involving a similar vehicle in a Wal-Mart parking lot, 4142 Austin Bluffs Parkway.
Officers arrested Leck near the Walmart and booked him into the El Paso County jail on suspicion of felony kidnapping and misdemeanor assault. He also had been wanted on a felony assault warrant involving the same woman, Buckley said.
The woman was taken to a hospital with injuries that didn't appear life-threatening.
