A 28-year-old man was arrested Thursday after a security guard caught him allegedly burglarizing a home in southwest Colorado Springs, police said.

Colorado Springs police said the security guard was responding to an alarm at a home at the 3400 block of Broadmoor Valley Road around 12:30 a.m. when he found the suspect, Erven Coulter, in the garage.

He restrained the man until police arrived.

After searching the home with a police dog, police found two handguns that had been left in the garage.

Police said no one was home during the alleged break-in.
