A Colorado Springs police officer was taken to a local hospital after a man allegedly threw a sharp container during a family disturbance.
At about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, police were called to the 800 block of Hayden Drive. They were told that 37-year-old Bre Lyson Kerley had come home inebriated and was breaking furniture inside the home.
Officers were let into the home and started talking with Kerley to determine if he "was a danger to himself." During the conversation, police said Kerley grabbed a "clear cylindrical container" and threw it at the officers, one of whom was hit in the upper thigh.
Kerley was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault.
The officer was taken to a local hospital for a minor laceration.
