A 38-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after a domestic violence situation turned into a two-hour standoff, police said.

Heath O'Keefe was arrested on suspicion of felony menacing and prohibited use of a weapon, police said.

Officers responded to the area of 10000 Ouray Creek Point about 3 p.m. and learned that a man and a woman were involved in an argument when the man, identified as O'Keefe, pointed a handgun at the woman, police said.

The woman removed herself from the situation once officers arrived, and police tried to get O'Keefe to exit the home.

He didn't have a phone, and officers had to use a bullhorn to communicate with him. He eventually came to the front door and was taken into custody about 5:15 p.m., police said.

During the incident, residents of neighboring homes were asked to shelter in place. No injures were reported as a result of the incident.
