A crash on South Powers Boulevard Saturday closed the road in both directions for half an hour and sent three people to the hospital, one with injuries so serious he had to be airlifted to medical help, the Colorado State Patrol said.

The other two people had minor injuries. troopers said.

At about 2 p.m., Colorado State Patrol received a call about the crash, which involved a Chevy pickup truck and a BMW. The accident happened on northbound Powers near Bradley Road and stopped traffic in both directions, the Colorado State Patrol said.

Flight for Life, requested by responders at about 2:30 p.m., transported the driver of the truck, a 40-year-old male, to Penrose main hospital.

Names and other details have not been released.
