LOVELAND — Authorities have searched a Loveland apartment but didn't make any arrests after a shooting that left a police officer critically injured.

The Loveland Reporter-Herald reports (http://tinyurl.com/n8qx84n ) no one was home when police entered the residence Monday afternoon.

Earlier Monday, a high school, middle school and elementary school were placed on lockdown during the search.

Police say the officer who was injured is expected to survive. Authorities identified him as 36-year-old Garret Osilka (oh-SIL'-kuh).

He was shot Sunday during a nighttime traffic stop.

Police say Osilka returned fire. It's not known if a suspect was hit, but hospitals were told to be on the lookout for someone with a gunshot wound.
