UPDATE: Swigert Academy and Roosevelt Edison Charter School were on security lockdown as Colorado Springs police search for an individual they say ran from a traffic stop Tuesday, but the lockdowns have been lifted.

Colorado Springs School District 11 made the announcement that lockdowns were lifted at 10:13 a.m. on Twitter.

The incident began at 9:15 a.m. near Jet Wing Drive and South Chelton Road, south of the two District 11 schools that are on security perimeter status, police said.

Police took one person into custody and are searching the area of Pikes Peak Avenue and Murray Boulevard for a second man, Lt. Catherine Buckley said. She did not say whether the man was armed or considered dangerous.
