STAGECOACH INN

3.5 stars

702 Manitou Ave., 80829; 685-9400; www.stagecoachinn.com

The Stagecoach Inn has been a staple of Manitou Springs for many years. The decor leans a little toward the hokey side of Western, but not too far. It's a nice place for a family dinner, especially if you've got a diverse group who wants everything from seafood to burgers.

DISHES NOT TO MISS: Fried chicken ($13.99), Black & Bleu Sirloin ($15.99)

NEW DAY CAFE

3.75 stars

5901 Delmonico Drive, 80919; 266-0555; newdaycafe.com

New Day Cafe is a sunny, cheerful space with decent breakfast and lunch options. The service was quick and friendly during my visits, although you'd better be prepared to wait for a while on Sundays, when the crowd is thick. With a little more attention to detail, this could be a really kick-butt destination for breakfast or lunch any day of the week.

DISHES NOT TO MISS: Cactus Jack Omelet ($8.99), corned beef hash and eggs ($9.99), chicken tortilla soup ($1.99/cup or $3.99/bowl).

THE FRONT

4.75 STARS

1670 E. CHEYENNE MOUNTAIN BLVD., 80906; 527-0171; THEFRONTCS.COM

When you walk through the door, you think you're in a typical take-out pizza joint. But if you want to eat in, you're led through a door marked "Private" to find a snug, stylish dining room. The pizzas are fantastic, the pasta is delicious and the desserts are mostly made on the premises.

DISHES NOT TO MISS: Quattro Stagioni pizza ($9.60/$15), chicken Parmesan ($16)
