Here is what's open and what's not in the Pikes Peak region:
Banks and credit unions: Closed Thursday.
Buses (Metro Transit): No bus service Thursday.
Government offices: City, county and state offices closed Thursday and Friday. Federal offices closed Thursday. Most offices open Friday; check with individual offices.
Libraries: All Pikes Peak District Library branches closed Thursday.
Postal Service: Offices closed and no mail service Thursday.
Public schools: Closed for Thanksgiving break. Check with individual districts for dates.
The Gazette: Office closed Thursday; newspaper delivery unaffected.
Malls: The Citadel and Chapel Hills: Closed Thursday,although Chapel Hills will have more than 20 stores that will open at 8 p.m. Thursday; The Citadel and Chapel Hills open 6 a.m.- 10 p.m. Friday.
Major department and grocery stores: Some stores open Thursday, some have shortened hours. Check with individual stores.
