The LA Galaxy II’s Ethan Zubak received a three-game suspension and was fined an undisclosed amount by the United Soccer League for elbowing Colorado Springs defender Josh Phillips in the mouth during Saturday's 2-1 road win for the Switchbacks.

The league's Independent Disciplinary Panel determined Zubak used excessive force according to Wednesday's league discipline report. He was issued a yellow card during the game.

Phillips tweeted a photo from the dentist office  Sunday showing the extent of his injury adding "good thing I have a girlfriend."

The Switchbacks have this weekend off.
