Kmart reports jewelry theft

Colorado Springs police are investigating a report of jewelry stolen from the Kmart on Nevada Avenue.

When the store's manager arrived at the store, located at 3020 N. Nevada Ave., shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday, she found the store's glass doors broken.

She called police, who found that the store's jewelry cases had been broken into, and that jewelry was missing.

Nothing else appeared to be missing, Sgt. Darrin Abbink said.

Police are waiting to hear from Kmart as to the value of the jewelry stolen.

Detectives will be reviewing surveillance video, he added.
