Stacia Naquin, anchor of the KKTV morning news, is leaving the station to join NBC affiliate KPNX in Phoenix to be their consumer investigative reporter. Naquin will continue to work at KKTV until December 24th, then begin her new position in January.

Naquin began her broadcasting career in Oklahoma. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma she took a position at ABC affiliate KSWO in Lawton, working her way up from tape editor to morning anchor and producer. Naquin came to Colorado Springs and KKTV five years ago. The Colorado Broadcasters Association named Naquin and John Harding, who left the station in September to work full time on his real estate business, 2012’s Best Anchor Team.

During her off-air hours, Naquin also taught Public Speaking and Interpersonal Communications courses at Pikes Peak Community College and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

There is no word yet regarding Naquin’s replacement but KKTV general manager Nick Matesi said they are currently looking.

“Thank you for allowing me to be part of your morning and part of your community,” said Naquin. “Colorado Springs will always be in my heart.”
