The Colorado Springs Switchbacks defeated the LA Galaxy II for the first time on the road after forward Kevaughn Frater scored the second of a career-high two goals to upend the hosts, 2-1, late Saturday.
Frater opened the scoring at the StubHub Center in the 65th minute off a corner kick by defender Josh Suggs before LA tied the United Soccer League game at 1-1 in the 80th minute.
Frater’s second goal 10 minutes later gave the Switchbacks (5-4-5) their second straight win, both coming in the 90th minute or stoppage time.
"I really like the fight this team has developed as the season goes on and the 'never say die' attitude,” coach Steve Trittschuh said in a release. “We just need to keep working on our game and be better."
The Switchbacks have a bye week before traveling to Swope Park (Kansas City) on June 21.
