A Highlands Ranch man convicted Wednesday on two counts of sexual exploitation of a child for possession of child pornography at his home is facing 12 years in prison.

Wilmer Hau Sosa was an 18-year-old high school student at the time of his arrest in 2011, the 18th Judicial District Attorney's Office said Thursday.

Sosa was in possession of "heinous images (that) included videos of elementary school-aged children, and younger, engaging in sexual acts," a press release states.

Sentencing is set for Sept. 27.
