The Colorado Springs Jung Society, a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to understanding the psychology of Carl Jung and his successors, will host a lecture and workshop by psychiatrist and author Jean Shinoda Bolen on Friday and Saturday.
Bolen is a psychiatrist, Jungian analyst, internationally known speaker and author of "The Tao of Psychology" and "Goddesses in Everywoman," among others. She is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a former clinical professor of psychiatry at the University of California at San Francisco.
Bolen's Friday lecture, "Catching Fire: Imagination & Activism," will focus on the power of passion, imagination and compassion to effect positive change. On Saturday, her workshop, "Path with Soul/Path with Heart: The Inner Compass," will explore the ideas of soul knowledge and the quest for a personal myth.
The lecture is 7-9 p.m.; the workshop runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Both events are at Unity Church of the Rockies, 1945 Mesa Road, in Colorado Springs. Nonmember cost for the lecture is $20; $100 for the workshop.
