One of Colorado Springs' largest private employers is continuing to add to its workforce, one batch at a time.
Time Warner Cable announced in July that it would add 150 jobs to its Colorado Springs call center by year's end. So far, Time Warner has filled about 100 of the 150 jobs, said Time Warner spokesman Bret Picciolo.
Next week, it will continue its expansion with a job fair to hire 30 more customer service representatives. Another hiring event will take place in November or December, he said.
The jobs are full-time, hourly positions, with a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance and disability coverage, a 401(k) plan and pension program, tuition reimbursement and paid time off.
Picciolo said he didn't know what the jobs will pay, but, combined with benefits, the positions offer good compensation for many people, he said.
"It's a job that, in a lot of ways, helps people support their families," Picciolo said.
Time Warner's call center in the Springs is the company's largest in the nation, Picciolo said. Employees field calls primarily from California, and assist residential customers with billing, repairs and other questions about cable service.
The company has about 700 employees at the Springs call center, and will be close to 750 by the end of the year, he said.
