It was the bomb unit, not the bong unit

Colorado Springs police cleared a storage shed in the southeast part of the city after a cannabis device was mistaken for a pipe bomb Wednesday morning.

Around 9:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Sandwood Drive when a maintenance manager at an apartment complex there found a suspicious item, police said. Officers responded and found what looked like a pipe bomb in a small storage space associated with a vacant apartment.

"Members of the CSPD Bomb Unit responded and found the device to be an item typically used to extract THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) from marijuana," police said in a news release.

The item was safely removed, according to police.
