Investigators recovering wreckage of small plane in western Colorado

COLLBRAN — Investigators are still trying to recover the wreckage of a small plane that crashed in western Colorado, killing the pilot and two passengers.

According to KKCO-TV (http://tinyurl.com/knezr86 ), the wreckage is in a remote area miles from the nearest highway.

The Mesa County Sheriff's Office says the wreckage was found Thursday in a remote area east of Collbran.

The victims have been identified as Dana Brewer, who was pilot of the plane, and passengers William Kennon and Richard Platz, all residents of the Western Slope.

The plane took off from Mesa-Mack airport. Authorities say the pilot told the airport manager they were checking for livestock
