DENVER — An Air Force airman who was shot and killed in downtown Denver has been identified as 19-year-old Shaquille Hargrove.

The Denver Medical Examiner said Monday Hargrove was killed by a gunshot wound in his chest early Saturday.

Police say a second airman was injured. That person's name hasn't been released.

Officials at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora have said both airmen were stationed there. The officials didn't immediately return a call.

Denver police say the shooting occurred just after 2 a.m. Saturday in the area of 15th and Market streets.

KMGH-TV in Denver reports that officials at Buckley have put the area off-limits to airmen. It wasn't clear when the order was issued.
