Kristyn and Geith Getty will perform "Sing! An Irish Christmas" at The Broadmoor Hotel Dec. 6-7, 2017.

Hymn writers and performers Keith and Kristyn Getty will stop in Colorado Springs on Wednesday and Thursday to perform "Sing! An Irish Christmas" at The Broadmoor.

The concerts, which coincide with the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther's Reformation, highlight the Gettys' initiative to revive congregational singing. They will be accompanied by Celtic and bluegrass musicians from North America and Ireland.

The married duo's national tour kicks off Sunday in Pensacola, Fla., and also will make stops at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., and Carnegie Hall in New York City.

The concert's first half will feature carols and seasonal vocal, instrumental and dance folk music.

The second half invites the audience to follow the Christmas story through readings around the four songs of Christmas from the Book of Luke - the Benedictus of the High Priest Zechariah, Mary's Magnificat, the Angel's Gloria in Excelsis Deo and Simeon's Nunc Dimittis. The readings will be interspersed with carols for all to sing, including "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen," "Deck the Halls," "Silent Night," "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing," "O Children Come" and "God So Loved the World."

The Gettys have released six studio albums, two live albums and one children's album. Their hymn "In Christ Alone" is their most well-known. They live in Nashville and Northern Ireland with their three daughters and another on the way.

The local concert is presented by Biblica, in partnership with the Christian Camp and Conference Association.

Tickets are $45-$80 and may be purchased via www.gettymusic.com.
