VAIL — Authorities are trying to determine the age and gender of a human skull from a Vail construction site and figure out how that person might have died.

The skull was discovered at a construction debris site in Edwards on Thursday and traced back to a construction project in Vail, where another bone was found.

The Vail Daily (http://bit.ly/1iMTnh9) reports that the Vail International and VailGlo Lodge buildings were torn there to make way for a new condominium and commercial complex.

The Eagle County coroner's office, the sheriff's office, Vail police and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation are participating in the investigation, which could take several days.
