The Round Rock Express exploded for seven runs in the seventh and eighth innings to defeat the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (42-52), 10-4, in the series finale Thursday - earning a series split. The Express pounded out 16 hits compared to the Sky Sox' five.

The contest got off to a quick start once again when right fielder Carlos Gonzalez smacked an RBI-triple to score Rafael Ynoa giving the Sky Sox a 1-0 lead.

It was back-and-forth through the first three innings, however, and the Express took the lead in the second despite Dustin Garneau's solo home run to take the lead in the second.

Trailing 3-2, Ben Paulsen followed Gonzalez' lead with his RBI-triple of his own to tie the game 3-3.

The game stayed tied until Garneau smacked another solo-shot in the seventh inning to hand the Sky Sox the lead. It was the first multi-home run game for Garneau in his career.

Despite a strong couple of innings from relief pitcher Greg Burke (3-2), the Express tied the score when Michael Choice led the seventh inning with a home run of his own. Burke gave up two more singles before RHP Manny Corpas came into the game.

Corpas wasn't able to hold the runners as he allowed both runs to score.
