Colorado Springs police have identified the man killed in a homicide Tuesday evening in the southeast part of the city.

Andrew Aguilar, 24, died after police found him around 5:15 p.m. in an apartment on the 200 block of University Drive. Aguilar was apparently shot, police said, and was dead at the scene.

"No suspect is in custody at this time," said Barbara Miller, police spokeswoman. "The investigation remains open and ongoing."

Police say they believe this homicide is an isolated incident and that there is no continuing danger to the community. Aguilar's slaying marks the 19th homicide of 2013.
