GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. (AP) — A man who died while hiking at Grand Canyon National Park has been identified as an Ohio resident.

Park officials on Monday identified the man who died Friday on the North Kaibab Trail as 47-year old Andrew Sammler of Lancaster.

Officials say Sammler was hiking up the trail with three other people when he was stricken about a half-mile from the trailhead.

An investigation is being conducted by the National Park Service and the Coconino County medical examiner.
